stationery crazzzzzzzzzzy

i've always been a stationery-a-holic as far as my memory can span (much the same as my love for watches and photography). even though as a kid i had limited $$ and couldn't spend it to my heart's content on stationery (nothing has really changed dramatically) i'd nevertheless spend hours browsing the stationery section of stores... there was such a limited selection - grace bros, newsagents (including the chinatown ones of po hong & chi man), the korean morning glory stores. when the specialised stationery stores such as kikki-k opened, my heart went into an accelerated beating in the delight of stationery.

one of the cool things about where i work is that there are quite a few fellow stationery crazies, so we kinda spur each other on... and earlier in the week as i was walking to a meeting, i spied a sparkling (actually it was a matte black cloth cover with red trim - but to me it sparkled!) new notebook in the arms of my colleague. of course i couldn't help myself but gush over it and then ask her where she got the exciting new find from because it wasn't a style that i'd recognised being sold through my regular haunts of borders, kikki-k and kinokuniya - sadly we don't have that many options locally (smiggle & typo aren't really my cup of tea). so you can understand my excitement when she told me of a new place that had an "acceptable" range to offer :)

well it is a place that is too good not to share, so i take great pleasure in introducing...

these guys have actually been around for a good few years and they have a few other brands and they only sell online.

notemaker.com.au have lots of classic cloth covered imported brands like bindewerks from germany (my fave is the purist heehee),  rhodia, moleskin (these are cheaper than what you find in stores too! another delighted heehee!) and also the o-check range that has a vintage bound-book range. but wait there's more, they also have a range of newer upcoming brands from korea and sydney and the best part is that there is japanese stationery range with delfonics, geografia, washi paper masking tapes (love these!) and it seems like they are adding to their list - i wonder if they could ever get muji stationery?

oh and should i mention that they have a blog too? its called field notes and if you are a stationery lover such as moi... you'd fall in love with it... here's a sneak peek...

to all fellow stationery-a-holics.... enjoy!
